Recovery from trauma and what is labelled as mental illness can take many paths and none of them are the right path for everyone. There is no one size fits all and anyone who claims there is is either unaware or lying. Drugs can be useful in the short term, while in the long term, debilitating side effects that were not explained in the beginning can make life unbearable.
